Novotel Clarke Quay is an established hotel in Singapore. Undisputed is the good location that the hotel is situated. It is right in the Clarke Quay area, which is a heritage site of preserved buildings holding many pubs and restaurants right by the riverside. This is one of the best place to chill and get a drink in the evening. It is also right beside the Clarke Quay MRT station (subway station).
I have noticed that the staffs in Novotel tends to be younger and seems relatively new. However, they make up for their lack of experience with smiles, politeness and genuine service and concerns.
Breakfast is fantastic and is comparable to many five stars hotels in Singapore. The hotel is well served by security officers and the surrounding areas are regularly patrolled by the Singapore police force (likely because it is a tourist area). Lift levels are only accessible by the room access card. Most rooms have a separate shower and bath and the beds are generally soft and comfy.
My only qualms is that the furniture looks a little dated and the hot shower was not working when I first checked in. This was fixed in about 20 minutes by their maintenance guy. I’ve noticed a fair bit of discounts when booking online, so check out these before making any booking.
Overall: Good Location, helpful staff, dated furniture, clean rooms and good rates.
